Lesson 1: The Forest
- Students will use the blog as a way to express their findings and understanding of the environment they explored. They will then assist each other by reviewing the blog postings of two of their peers and provide feedback on the students references to elements observed, imagination of elements unseen, and creativity of the blog format.
Lesson 2: The Problem Begins
- Students will display their understanding of polluted environments through the group creation of a miniaturized habitat model and the creation of a blog posting highlighting: 3 pollution problems from the students field journals, identification of the source/cause of each problem. who/what will the problem affect, whether this problem acute or chronic? Students will then create a collaborative Concept Map through SmartDraw that shows visual connections between types of habitat health, flora/fauna, and pollutants.
Lesson 3: Removal & Remediation
- For the culmination of this program the students will engage in a "Round Table" video conference discussion with their instructor and their peers. The students will address predetermined topics chosen by the instructor, and provide feedback on each others ideas, perspectives, and cumulative knowledge of the lessons material.
